What can you do if your child is denied coverage in Healthy Families?
Below are some steps you can take if your child is denied enrollment


If your child is not enrolled because your income is below the income guidelines, you might qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal. We can provide you with the phone number of the nearest Medi-Cal office to find out if you qualify.


If enrollment is denied because your income is above the income guidelines, there might be other programs you can join. You can call 1-800-880-5305 for more information. This call is free!


However, if you disagree with Healthy Families decision not to enroll your child, you can appeal that decision. If Healthy Families send you a denial letter, they will include instructions for how you can appeal, or you can contact us for more information.


Have things changed since you turned in your application? If you have new income papers or other new information you want us to review, send it to us within 60 days of the date we denied enrollment. Please be sure to write your Family Member Number (which is given to you when you apply).
