California’s Healthy Families Program

Healthy Families is sponsored by the State of California and provides low-cost medical, dental and vision insurance for children, teens and pregnant woman who do not have insurance and do not qualify for Medi-Cal.

Child Health Care

From the time they are born, children require ongoing preventive health care. Healthy Families plans provide regular health exams including well-baby appointments, as well as dental and vision check-ups. State law requires that every child be checked by a doctor and a dentist before entering school; with Healthy Families coverage, those appointments are covered at a minimum cost to you.

Teen Health Care

Entering into their teenage years, regular health exams can be even more important. Preventive care is still necessary and regular check ups can catch small issues before they grow into larger problems. Lifestyles change when entering the teen years; with Healthy Families, regular health exams are covered as well as dental and vision check-ups.

Health Care For New Born Babies

Healthy Families offers health care for your new born baby and you can apply as early as 90 days prior to due date. Coverage then starts 10 days after Healthy Families receives you baby's birth announcement from hospital.
